The sample image shows a flower that was made using a men's necktie and using the lining silk for the contrasting leaf. Other fabrics that would be good to use would be t-shirts, button down shirts, thin denim, lace, satin, silks and other lightweight materials. If you're wondering if your materials can be used, please email me and I can advise you what might work best.
Sizes will vary depending on the thickness of your fabric. Typical size is around 2.5 to 3 inches across. The thicker the fabric, the larger the flower. Stems are 8 inches long. Overall length is 10 inches.
